Welcome to The Viet Connection

"The Viet Connection" is a unique talk show that highlights the 1.5/1.8 Vietnamese-American generations. Either born outside of the United States or soon after their parents immigrated to the U.S., the struggles of these generations are distinctive because of the constant battle between obeying their parents' wishes of preserving the Vietnamese traditions and customs, and trying to blend into the culture of their adopted country. These generations not only had to cope with identity crisis during adolescence, but also with being torn between Eastern and Western traditions.

The hosts will bring uplifting, hilarious, and heart-warming experiences to viewers to remind them of the journey that brought them to where they are, and that they are not alone with their struggles. The show will bring in-depth interviews with star artists, politicians, and people of all different backgrounds to help us be inspired by their achievements. It will feature stories of our interviewees' discoveries of their own identities, while they maintained their heartfelt wishes of their parents, and paved the way for future generations.

The 1.5 generation is venturing out from the grey subject of the Vietnam War, and for the first time, taking on issues such as sex, religion, and what it means to have a divided cultural identity. The show will tackle hot topics from skin care, to human trafficking in Vietnam, to rising stars in every industry.

Vietnamese-Americans are climbing that ladder to stardom from business to entertainment at record speed. The trend is expanding and we show no signs of slowing down -- so join us as we explore each other's successes!
